We are in the Fields Flegrei, a volcanic caldera formed 45.000 years ago with the eruption of the grey tufo of campania. The ashes of this eruption have actually arrived in Russia. The whole Campania has a layer of ignimbrite of Campania. 12.000 years ago There has been the eruption of the Neapolitan yellow tufo of which the volcano of Nisida is formed, as it happened for Posillipo. 4200 years, with the eruption of the recent volcanos, they have risen: the Solfatara, Agnano, the Astronis, New Mountain, Capri and Ischia. These last two don't belong to the Fields Flegrei while, from the geologic point of view, Procida and Quarter belong it. Monte Nuovo is situated at the center of the caldera in fact it is the younger because the eruptions have happened from the outside toward the inside and they have been less violent in the time, the more violent is that of 45.000 years ago. The caldera of the Fields Flegrei has an only room of magma that feeds all the eruptions from a different point from the precedents unlike the Vesuvius that has a room proper of magma.
